I guess this was inevitably going to be the introduction post. Hello, I’m Manisha! I’m 22 and I have sporadic life adventures that I pair with consistent episodes of stress cooking. I love to cook for my friends and family and hopefully these recipes make it easier to cook for yours! Although desi restaurants have gained popularity since I was a kid, there’s something about home cooked meals and snacks that they can’t be replicated.
These fries were our midnight snack every night for the whole summer once. I miss that deep fryer but baking is much more convenient! These aren’t my own recipe but they hold a lot of memories of playing hearthstone while being nourished by the combo of sweet milk tea and the spiciness of these fries.
Ingredients:
3 medium sized potatoes
1 tbsp Chaat masala
1 tsp Cayenne
1 tbsp Salt
1/2 tbsp Garlic powder
Oil spray
Preheat the oven to 450 degrees. Chop up the potatoes whichever fry shape you like. I like cutting them more of a matchstick. Drop these in cold water so they can get crisper (remember osmosis from bio). Also I have barely any knife skills so, I should really invest in those fry cutter gadgets.
Press these dry with a cloth or paper towel (switching away from paper
towels was so much easier when I got kitchen cloths). Add spices,
spray with oil, and mix!
Ideally you would want to put this on a tray but since I’ve been moving, I had this bowl.
Go ahead and put it in the oven for 20-25
mins. Adjust this time to he higher if you have thicker cuts.
Pair with chai and you’re set! This makes enough to share 🙂
